Basso Tullio s.n.c. expanded to such an extent after its success with elastomers, that it finally decided to take the big step, an idea that they’d been considering, planning and programming for quite some time: the creation of machines that incorporate Basso Tullio’s polyurethane products. Machines that can be used to the best possible advantage in the marble and granite cutting industry. Machines that integrate the company’s extensive experience in the field gained through research and projects developed over the years. A perfect integration from which would emerge a line of diamond wire quarry saws, the Filo 800 and Filo 1000.
THE STONE SECTOR
For the stone sector in particular, Basso Tullio s.n.c. developed a technology and a number of compounds to facilitate the sliding of the diamond wire, which in turn, have led to the creation of innovative and highly functional machines.
ELASTOMERS
Around 1950 Basso was one of the first to introduce, alongside the company’s traditional line of production, a modern laboratory for the development of elastomers – synthetic products that were becoming popular due to their considerable elastic properties. Basso designed and created an extensive range of elastomers which were adopted successfully in a variety of sectors.
THE RED V PROFILE FOR FLYWHEEL
The company also started to produce Last-Mecc polyurethane elastomers which are now used in a wide range of applications. The V shaped profile (V for volano meaning ‘flywheel’) became the company’s prized elastomer: a synthesis of quality, precision and efficiency.
